Ow, my eyes

I spent most of today, a rare Monday off work, doing some tinkering to the blog that more or less involved trying to decipher JavaScript code and accidentally coming across some CSS code that made more sense.

I’m really enjoying this whole personal web site thing, but crikey sometimes it’s a big ol’ pain-in-the-tuchis. I need a beer.

More than that, I think I need to get my contact lens prescription checked. Ouch.

Does this mean you now have time to answer emails?

Regarding this little blog of yours, which I’m sure makes you feel very important, a point about the title:

“Big in Japan. Adventures from the gaijin ghetto”

We’ll ignore the lack of bigness and adventures, and just examine the gaijin ghetto for our purposes here. Do you realize that gaijin generally refers to all foreigners, including those from developing countries, and as a white English native from the States, you are part of privileged elite. What do you know about any gaijin “ghetto” or ghetto at all in Japan. Have you ever done volunteer work in the Sanya area, where homeless are most populous in Japan? Do you even know where that is?
Can you tell me the name of the only African homeless man in Ikebukuro?
Do you have any friends that are from Bangladesh or China living six to a room taking turns sleeping, worried about getting busted by immigration?
I’m a bit touchy on this lately, as a good Bengali friend of mine in that situation was recently arrested for overstaying his visa, and now languishes in the Jujo jail awaiting deportation. (Nevermind that he paid taxes and never broke any laws.)

Do you even have a clue about most of the realities people outside of your privileged white kids crowd that hangs out in Harajuku (Pink Cow??)?

Why would you? You don’t need to.. No reason for you to.. Just pick a different title for your little blog big karate man.

    “mr. yoshimura,”

since you’re not able to communicate without insulting people, and you apparently did not come off a particularly intelligent branch of your family tree, let me point out the obvious while i stoop to your level: nobody’s forcing you to read my site. you don’t like it, go start your own.

wait, that’d be a bad idea. the last thing we need is more of your rank verbal flatulence stinking up the binary air in here. instead, why don’t you go take a long walk off a short train station platform?

i could say something like, “i hope you get tattooed with swaztikas and get thrown into a jewish prison,” but frankly, i’m sick of your pre-adolescent name-calling. you wanna act like a 7-year-old throwing a tantrum, you’ll get treated like one.

you get 24 hours to write an apology or you’re not going to be able to post here again.

Your assumptions are another source of amusement, karate-boy. (My name is Takako Yoshimura for your information.)

Let’s look at a few facts here. In the past day of my toying here I’ve basically accused you fo the following:
    1. arrogance
    2. ignorance of Sharon’s and the Wolfowitz-Cheney–Bush connection
    3. ignorance of the majority of gaijin in Japan
    4. ignorance of the conditions of poverty in Japan
    5. being a poor writer with little to say (highly subjective, yes..)
    6. not too much else except a few potshots at spoiled English teachers working for major corporations.. (a privileged group well capable of defending themselves)

In the same space, you have:

    1. (basically) compared me to a nazi (this thread)
    2. Threatened to ban me or delete my posts
    3. said I would not have the courage to say what I am now to you in person (because of your thinly veiled metaphors for physical violence) so basically threatened me with physical violence for my disagreement..
    4. called me an idiot and referred to my “family tree”
    5. used foul language multiple times from fucktard to asshole and onward..

And you’re basically the one “in power” here, and are threatening to strong arm me either through physical violence or banning etc.. and you have the guts to call me the Nazi??? Very cute.

You’re a very easy fellow to offend young seth.

This being your little forum it is natural that people friendly to you and the Sharon administration step forward in your defense. I think it is perhaps similar to if I were writing on a site of my own about the war crimes of Bush and you stepped in to wave a U.S. flag and claim the U.S. war on Iraq a great thing. The theoretical readership of my little site would then step forward to giggle at your odd assertion and make attempts to tear your attempt at logic into little bitty pieces.
(So I expected as much when I opted to voice a bit of my mind here.)

You say in the beginning of your post that I’m not able to voice my mind without insulting people, but if you look at the insulting that both of us have done, I think it’s clear that you have basically done the deeper and more hateful writing. (Not that your handful of readership will do anything but massage your wounded ego.)

Have no fear. I’ll assume you’ll be IP banning me, (assuming you can manage this vaguely technical feat..) and will not attempt to post after tonight. You can once again enjoy freedom from adverse opinion in your little bought and paid for piece of cyberspace.

Good-bye. Feel free to let the door hit you on the head on your way out; maybe it’ll knock some sense into you.
